RD’s story began with a pawnshop business in General Santos City in year 1976 by founder and CEO Rodrigo E. Rivera, Sr. and his wife Dolores. Sixteen years later in 1999, RD Corporation (RDC) was established as a holding company. Since its establishment, RD Corporation has become one of the fastest growing conglomerates in the country. To date it has rapidly expanded to 43 subsidiaries and 12 affiliates. These new companies and business ventures were born out of the need of a sister company making RD Corporation, by and large, an integrated conglomerate.

RDC continually professionalized and enhanced its controls and systems. In 2005 it created the Audit Committee and People Management Committee.

Currently, RDC has established presence in various industries and geographical locations within the country and overseas. Today, RD Corp is engaged in fishing, ship building and repair, manufacturing, aquaculture and processing, finance, agri-business, hotels and resorts, retail and realty development operating all over the Philippines, Southeast Asia, Melanesia, and other parts of the world like Europe and United States.
